Maple shaker kitchen with full granite backsplash
A stripped-back kitchen rebuilt in warm maple shaker cabinetry, with granite carried from the countertop all the way up the wall.
The kitchen started out in orange-toned oak with a beige laminate peninsula and a small tiled backsplash, the standard specification for a great many Florida homes of a certain age. The layout itself worked, so it stayed. Everything sitting on it was replaced.
New grey shaker cabinetry runs to the ceiling on the range wall, with matte black bar pulls and soft-close on every door and drawer. The peninsula was rebuilt with a white speckled quartz top that wraps the corner and gives the family a proper run of prep space facing the dining room.
A linear glass mosaic backsplash in mixed greys and whites ties the quartz to the cabinets, and the pantry door was painted to match the units so the wall reads as one plane rather than a cabinet run interrupted by a door.
